LEATHER NOTES · CARE & BUYING GUIDE
How to choose and care for leather goods
Leather accessories work best when you know what they are made of, how they are constructed and how to look after them. This guide answers common questions about leather bags and wallets. It is general care advice; always follow the instructions provided for your particular item.
What is the difference between full-grain and corrected-grain leather?
Full-grain leather generally retains the outer grain surface of the hide, including its natural variation. Corrected-grain leather has been mechanically or chemically modified on the surface for a more uniform appearance. Neither description should be assigned to a product without checking its actual material specification.
Does all leather develop a patina?
Many leathers change in colour, sheen or texture as they are handled and exposed to light and use. The degree of change depends on tanning, dye, coating and care. Highly finished leather may change less noticeably than less-coated leather. Natural variation is not a substitute for a clear description of a product’s intended finish.
How do I clean a leather wallet or bag?
Start with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust. For deeper cleaning, test any leather-specific cleaning product on a hidden area and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Avoid soaking the leather, harsh detergents or abrasive brushes. Different finishes may require different methods.
What should I do if a leather bag gets wet?
Gently blot moisture with a clean cloth and allow the item to dry naturally at room temperature. Keep it away from radiators, direct heat and extended strong sunlight. Once dry, use a care product only if it is suitable for that leather finish.
How should I store a leather travel bag?
Store it clean and dry, with light padding inside to help maintain its shape. Avoid crushing the bag under heavy objects. A breathable fabric dust bag is generally preferable to airtight plastic for long-term storage.
Will the colour match the photograph exactly?
Screen calibration, lighting and the variation of natural materials can affect the way colour appears. Product pages should include photographs in neutral lighting and identify any variation that buyers should expect.
What should I check before choosing a leather work bag?
Check the external dimensions and the usable internal dimensions; laptop compatibility; strap length; carrying weight; pocket layout; closure; and the actual material and hardware specifications. A marketing label such as “fits 16-inch laptop” should be supported by measured internal space.

Where can I find shipping and return information?
Before ordering, consult the published shipping and return policies and the details on the product page. Processing time, transit estimates, customs charges and return conditions should be stated clearly for your delivery destination.
